Ingredient Upgrade
Doubling of C3Px
The composite active ingredient C3Px Complex, composed of "BAKUCHIOL," "ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8," and "ECTOIN," remains the main efficacy driver.
"ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8" is responsible for rapid wrinkle reduction, while "BAKUCHIOL" is responsible for long-lasting anti-aging effects from the inside out.
"ECTOIN" is responsible for multifaceted stabilization and inflammation reduction, ensuring that the skin becomes steadily more beautiful.
The quantities of these three raw materials have quietly doubled compared to the old version.
Other Ingredient Adjustments
Additionally, the quantities of other active ingredients have also been increased.
For example, in the day cream, night cream, and eye cream, there are increased amounts of antioxidant derivatives such as "TETRAHEXYLDECYL ASCORBATE," "CAFFEINE," and Vitamin A. This further enhances antioxidant capacity, helping prevent skin dullness even after using products like original Vitamin C essence within 24 hours.
In the eye cream, the content of "Beautifeye" (ALBIZIA JULIBRISSIN BARK EXTRACT), which specifically helps lift the upper eyelid, has also been increased. This effect is well understood by those who have used it and are looking to address the signs of aging.
In the night cream, key ingredients such as "INULIN" and "ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDE," which help promote the growth of probiotics and regulate the skin microbiome, have been increased in quantity. This adjustment aims to further enhance the effectiveness of balancing the skin microbiome.
Additionally, the quantities of "SACCHARIDE ISOMERATE," a hydrating agent that remains on the skin, and "SQUALANE," a non-greasy emollient, have also been increased. This adjustment aims to address the concerns of some individuals with dry skin who found the previous version of the cream insufficiently hydrating.
Product Texture Adjustment
No matter how powerful the product's efficacy, it must be accompanied by the best possible texture for the skin. Based on feedback on the three creams, we have made further adjustments to the product textures.
The night cream places more emphasis on repair capabilities, so its texture is thicker than the previous version, providing a less slippery feel. Before application, users can emulsify and rub it slightly in their palms for a smoother and more comfortable application on the face.
The day cream is now more moisturizing and hydrating than the previous version. Additionally, considering the potential issue of pilling when applying makeup during the day, we have reduced the addition of large molecular thickeners. This adjustment ensures that subsequent makeup application will be smooth and free of pilling.
The texture of the eye cream has become clearer and more transparent, with the content of organic essential oils reduced to minimal levels. As a result, even those with extremely sensitive skin around the eyes will no longer experience any irritation.
Comparison of efficacy tests between old and new versions
Here are a few questions that many of our group members might be particularly curious about:
First, has the efficacy of the new version of the cream been qualitatively improved based on the previous formula?
Second, while C3Px seems trendy, how strong is its effect really? Can we compare it to a well-known active ingredient?
Let's not beat around the bush and go straight to the efficacy comparison test data!
Anti-aging
C3PX is primarily focused on anti-aging, and Pro-Xylane is one of the most renowned anti-aging active ingredients in the industry, so let's use it as a benchmark.
Firstly, Pro-Xylane has been proven to be associated with strengthening the basement membrane and promoting synthesis of glycosaminoglycans. Therefore, we conducted tests to assess the impact of the components of the C3Px complex on glycosaminoglycan synthesis. By measuring changes in the expression levels of xylosyltransferase 2 (XYLT2) gene, we can determine the effect of the components on glycosaminoglycan synthesis.
The in vitro results indicate that using as little as 1% of the C3Px (BAKUCHIOL + ECTOIN) complex is more effective in synthesis compared to adding 10% Pro-Xylane.
The key point is that the old version of the Bakuchiol cream already contained a high concentration of C3Px, reaching up to 2%, and this year it has doubled again. Surprised? Not really, considering the effectiveness.
In the three new versions of the Bakuchiol cream, the addition of fermented plant oils has also been increased. Therefore, compared to the old version, the antioxidant and anti-glycation effects have been further enhanced, and significantly so.
When the old and new versions of the Bakuchiol night cream are diluted by the same factor, the test results show that the new cream can significantly inhibit the formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), achieving 2.25 times the effectiveness of the old version.
Collagen synthesis-related
We also analyzed the impact of different products and ingredients on the expression levels of genes related to collagen synthesis and degradation in human dermal fibroblasts (CCD-966SK). These genes include COL1A1, COL1A2, COL4A4, which are related to collagen synthesis, as well as MMP2 and MMP9, which are involved in collagen degradation, among others.
The results indicate that the new version of the Bakuchiol eye cream, compared to the old version, can further enhance the mRNA expression levels of Type I collagen genes. Specifically, it shows a greater regulatory effect on the COL1A2 and COL4A4 genes, with increases of 75.8% and 80%, respectively. Therefore, it can achieve better stimulation of Type I collagen synthesis in the dermis compared to the old version of the Bakuchiol eye cream.
Similarly, the new version of Bakuchiol eye cream significantly reduces the mRNA levels of matrix metalloproteinase genes MMP2 and MMP9, thereby reducing the degradation of collagen in the dermis.
Whitening and Spot Removal
People are inherently greedy; if a face cream can not only possess powerful anti-aging abilities but also have the added benefit of whitening, it would be the cherry on top. Although our previous version of the face cream did not prominently feature the inhibitory ability against tyrosinase in its advertising, experiments have shown that C3Px can significantly inhibit tyrosinase activity. This is attributed to the strong combination of Bakuchiol and Ectoin.
Therefore, both the new and old versions of the C3Px Bakuchiol series face creams and toners have excellent whitening and spot removal abilities. Of course, when used in conjunction with specialized products like UNILIPO Pterostilbene Serum and UNILIPO Anti-Aging Facial Oil, the effects will be even more pronounced.
